How Do You Know Jesus Christ Of Nazareth Is The Promised Messiah And Savior?
This is a good question.
If you believe Jesus Christ of Nazareth is your Lord and Savior from the devil, sin, death and hell, you believe this only because God the Holy Spirit has given this conviction to you through his inspired Word. You know that Jesus is the Messiah and Savior, whom God promised, because God's Word, which is the truth, tells you these truths.
The Word of God provides you with all the evidence you need in order to know that Jesus is the promised Messiah (Christ) and Savior.
The Word tells you in Galatians 4:4, "When the fullness of the time came, God sent forth his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law."
The Word tells you in Luke 2:10 God's angel announced that Jesus' birth was the birth of your Lord and Savior, saying, "I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people, for today in the city of David a Savior was born to you, who is Christ the Lord."
The Word tells you in John 4:25, 26 that Jesus told the woman at the well who was looking for the coming of Christ, the Messiah, that he himself was that promised Messiah who was to come.
The Word tells you in Matthew 11:2-6 that Jesus pointed to his preaching and to his miracles as proof that he was the promised Christ in whom you should believe.
The Word in Luke 24:44 tells you that after Jesus rose from the dead, which proved he is the Son of God, he said that what had been written in the Old Testament messianic prophecies of the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms had been written about him.
The Word tells you that the apostles were eyewitnesses who testified to Jesus being the promised Messiah and Savior, like the apostle John who wrote in 1 John 1:1, 2, "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked at and our hands touched, concerning the Word of Life . . . that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, that you yourselves also may have fellowship with us."
And the Word tells you in Acts 4:12 that those apostles testified, "And salvation is in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."
So how do you know that Jesus of Nazareth is the promised Messiah and Savior? You know this by the working of the Holy Spirit in your heart through the Word of God that tells you Jesus is Christ, the Savior.
